
New Delhi, September 12, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a three-day visit to Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal and Bihar from September 13 to 15. During this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 71,850 crore focused on connectivity, infrastructure, energy and agriculture.
A major highlight of this visit will be the launch of the National Makhana Board in Bihar, which aims to promote the production, processing and export of Bihar’s world famous Makhana.
1: Mizoram, Manipur & Assam (September 13)
Big Boost for Mizoram
- PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth ₹9,000 crore in Aizawl.
- The historic Bairabi–Sairang New Rail Line worth ₹8,070 crore will be inaugurated, connecting Mizoram to India’s railway network for the first time.
- He will also flag off three new trains:
- Sairang–Delhi Rajdhani Express
- Sairang–Guwahati Express
- Sairang–Kolkata Express
- Foundation stone for Aizawl Bypass Road, Chhimtuipui River Bridge, and several road projects under PM-DevINE & NESIDS schemes.
- Inauguration of Eklavya Model Residential School and Khelo India Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall.
- New LPG Bottling Plant at Mualkhang to strengthen energy supply in Mizoram.
Development in Manipur
- PM to launch projects worth ₹7,300 crore in Churachandpur including urban roads, highways, IT hubs, and women’s hostels.
- In Imphal, projects worth ₹1,200 crore will be inaugurated including the Civil Secretariat, IT SEZ, New Police HQ, and Ima Markets.
Celebrating Bhupen Hazarika in Assam
- In Guwahati, PM Modi will join the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika and address a public gathering.

Day 2: Assam (September 14)
- Foundation stone and inauguration of projects worth ₹18,530 crore.
- Darrang Medical College & Hospital, Nursing College, Guwahati Ring Road, and Kuruwa–Narengi Brahmaputra Bridge to boost healthcare & connectivity.
- Inauguration of Assam Bioethanol Plant at Numaligarh Refinery promoting clean energy.
- Foundation stone of Polypropylene Plant at NRL, Golaghat, enhancing petrochemical sector and creating jobs.
Day 3: West Bengal & Bihar (September 15)
Strategic Conference in Kolkata
- PM Modi to inaugurate the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference 2025 in Kolkata with the theme “Year of Reforms – Transforming for the Future”.
Mega Announcements in Bihar (Purnea & Bhagalpur)
- Inauguration of new terminal building at Purnea Airport.
- Projects worth ₹36,000 crore to be launched, including:
- ₹25,000 crore 3×800 MW Thermal Power Plant at Pirpainti, Bhagalpur – Bihar’s largest private sector investment.
- Kosi-Mechi Intra-State River Link Project worth ₹2,680 crore.
- New rail projects including Bikramshila–Katareah Rail Line (₹2,170 crore) and Araria–Galgalia Line (₹4,410 crore).
- Flagging off of Vande Bharat Express (Jogbani–Danapur) and Amrit Bharat Express Trains (Saharsa–Amritsar & Jogbani–Erode).
